Learning Intentions

Learning Intentions and Success Criteria (LISC) is a method of structuring lessons to ensure students are engaging with the purpose of the lesson and are reflecting on their achievement. It is based on research from around the world which has shown that using LISC significantly improves student engagement with their learning as it allows them to think about their success as well as their areas for improvement.

The lesson begins with a learning intention which is outlined as the skill, knowledge or understanding students are aiming to achieve. The success criteria follows the learning Intention and outlines how students can be successful at achieving the learning intention.
